Video Conversion
If you are going to use video in your MOODLE or Blackboard course – downloading the content, and hosting it yourself enhances your end-user experience. Kids won’t wait for a non-loading or stutter video. Ever wanted to grab that video from YouTube and other sources, but couldn't download? Here are some services you can try.
Have you tried keepvid.com??? Put in the URL and click download. Right click and save either a FLV or an MP4 file.
If you have Firefox, you can get the VideoDownloader plug-in at http://www.downloadhelper.net/ to help you get YouTube, TeacherTube, etc. videos downloaded to your local machine. Hidden in one of the menus is the ability to convert the FLV's that you get from the "tubes" to AVI, MPEG or MP4.
Additionally, you can install a standalone video-downloader, like TubeMaster at http://tubemaster.free.fr/
Another thing… you might like a nice FLV player too – try GOM Player - http://www.gomlab.com/engGMP_Introduction.html - It plays just about everything,I just like VLC player – and doesn’t seem to do the annoying ‘need a CODEC’ thing as much as Windows Media Player.
